Many years ago Dingeman started coming to Flamboro Speedway. He came to watch his sons race in the Hobbie division, and of course he became a fan of racing. Eventually he was the assistant Handicapper to line up the hobbie cars. Rarely did Dingeman and his wife Hilda miss a race. Dingeman enjoyed talking to people and he met many new friends. He supported the Junior Fan Club and donated bikes for prizes; some of the children called him Opa.
