Fred Poets

Fred raced on a dirt track in Manitoba for two years. He then moved to Ontario and took up wrestling. He sometimes wrestled a 700 pound bear. The bear always won. Around the same time he started racing cars again. He decided he was having more fun at the track so he gave up wrestling. His first car was a flat head Ford. Later he changed to Chevys. Fred won the season end and the overall points championship in 1970. In the 1973 season he was one of the first drivers to change to a skinny six motor and won 17 features, including the midseason and end season championships at Flamboro.
