Jim Collison

In 1962 Jim received $50 for winning a demolition derby. In those days a week's pay was about $40. This gave him the misconceived idea that racing was easy and you could make money doing it. He started racing Jalopies at Flamboro the following year. Before arriving at the track he painted the number 33 one his car. He wasn't aware that you couldn't just choose any number so he changed it to 53. Jim always drove Fords. During his years with the hobby club he wont the mid season championship in 1984, 85, 86. Jim has won the prestigious Bob Clint award a number of times. His son Brad races a street stock and son Jason races a go kart.
