Kevin Cantwell

Kevin started his racing career by winning a demo derby at Speedway Park. He spent his winnings on a hobby car and raced with the club from 1975 until 1977. He then left for two years and raced on dirt at Humberstone and Ransomville. When he returned to the club, he was a car owner for about three years. Both Freddie Poets and Davey Jones drove for him. His first car was a 1930 Chev and later he had a 1929 Chev, both number 2 and then he owned a 1928 Pontiac Coach numbered 54. Kevin was involved with the club until the mid 90's. He won the Bob Clint award and a roll over trophy for rolling over on his last night of racing.
