WOW, What A Night.

After the clubs two week mid season break the drivers and teams were ready to take the track. Tonight's action was presented by WOW 1 Day Painting and we were pleased to welcome the Hamilton branch to Flamboro Speedway for the event. We welcomed Jeremy Barton back to the club for his first race of 2022 where he announced that he would run part time the rest of 2022 and have a Full-Time entry in 2023.

Once practice wrapped up it was time for feature racing for 12 of the best Young Driver's Canadian Vintage Modifieds. It was the #44 of Connor Ross leading the field to green with the #42 of Steve Murdoch starting to his outside. On the drop of the green Murdoch fired around the outside of Ross bringing along with him the driver of the #17 Joe Arsenault as the bottom lane was getting stacked up. Lap four is when disaster struck as getting into turns one and two when Arsenault made contact with Steve Murdoch sending both cars in different directions and with no where to go for the #03 of Jake Gilbert made hard contact with Arsenault. Sadly ending the night for the #03 machine. Most of the field was involved but the only driver with damage was the #08 of Ricky Willigar who sadly also parked his vehicle for the night as well. When the green flag flew it was T.J Marshall taking the point where he never looked back taking the win with the #5 of Mike Podd finishing second and the #62 of Brian Pescetti rounding out the podium.

After the intermission is was time for the driver to strap back into their cars for our second feature of the night. The #7 of Quintin Murdoch would lead the field to green with the #14 of Scott Tonelli starting second. On the drop of the green flag Quintin Murdoch took an early lead over Tonelli with the #44 of Connor Ross and the #62 of Brian Pescetti lined up behind them keep Marshall and Podd at bay behind them. Lap 9 is where disaster would strike for Tonelli as coming through turns three and four the motor wasn't sounding right and as he dove off in turn one the motor grenaded bringing out the caution and ultimately ending his night. On the restart it was Q.Murdoch and Ross leading the field to green where Murdoch got out to a lead never looking back taking the victory over T.J Marshall and the #62 of Brian Pescetti.

T.J Marshall would take the overall win on the night finishing with a first and second in the two features.

The teams have a quick turn around as we go back racing next Saturday. On July 30th it is Kids Ride Night at Flamboro Speedway where children will have a chance to hop into a race car and taking some laps around the speedway before enjoying the nights action. Joining the Young Driver's Canadian Vintage Modifieds will be the Ontario Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks and Pure Stocks. Flamboro Speedway will also be giving out bikes to some lucky kids. So come on out and enjoy a ride in a stock car and have a chance to win a bike.
